Becca
Hello!
Hello! My name is Teacher Becca. I teach children, teenagers, and learners of all ages. If your child is enrolled in Cambly Kids, I typically follow the Cambly Kids lessons. However, there are times when I may choose to supplement or replace these lessons with other engaging resources to better support your child’s learning needs. I also teach on regular Cambly, working with students of all ages. I truly believe it’s never too late to learn a new language—I’m currently learning Korean myself and find it both fun and great for keeping the mind sharp! In my teaching, I focus on phonics, reading, and building strong conversational skills. You can read more about my teaching style below.
I am a teacher on Cambly Kids and a full-time librarian. In my free time, I enjoy playing the harp and piano, reading, and talking about books. I especially love reading with my Cambly students—young or old! I am TESOL Advanced Certified and have also completed a master’s-level course in teaching phonics. I believe that understanding how to decode words is essential for becoming fluent in English. I am also a Common Sense Certified Educator, which means I am trained to help students use technology safely, responsibly, and thoughtfully. This includes guiding learners on positive social media behavior, understanding their digital footprint, practicing good online etiquette, and recognizing and responding to issues like cyberbullying. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel confident navigating both language and the digital world. I can’t wait to be your or your child’s teacher!

Teaching Style
My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, and conversational. I like to begin each lesson with “free talk” about your day, interests, and hobbies to help you feel comfortable and build confidence in speaking English naturally. I also enjoy creating lessons based on your personal interests to keep learning meaningful and engaging. I use a variety of engaging resources to keep lessons interesting and effective. If you need extra support, I will use additional materials to help you understand. If we finish early, we can enjoy games, drawing, or more conversation. I also enjoy incorporating books, chosen to match your level and interests. We may read together, take turns, or I can listen and provide gentle corrections and feedback. For the best learning experience, lessons should take place in a quiet, distraction-free environment with a stable internet connection. For safety and focus, I do not teach students in moving vehicles. Please arrive on time, ready to learn and have fun. If you need to miss a class, kindly cancel in advance. I understand emergencies happen, but repeated no-shows may require finding another teacher. I look forward to helping you on your journey to becoming fluent in English! See you soon, Teacher Becca
