Margie
Hello!
I am patient and have had over 20 years experience working with people from many different cultures most of whom had been in the US 2 years.
I am a painter. I use oil paints as my primary medium, and my focus varies a lot from animal portraits to beach scenes. I love the water and sailed for many years. I have a German Shepherd. Memorable times for me have been hot air balloon flights in the S.West US, and trips to Europe, and most of all family vacations. I love to read, take long walks, visit national parks and attend musical events and plays. I enjoy being in groups where people are from different cultures and nationalities.

Teaching Style
I work starting with primarily advanced beginners .That is students who have a pretty good foundation in reading English and can understand basic English when spoken at a slow pace to them. My students whom I have had for many many sessions have gone from advanced beginners to students who are now at the proficient level and having one hour sessions which have been very positive. My teaching style includes vocabulary, reading, and discussion all according the individual's level of learning. I believe in moving forward at a reasonable pace and not staying in one's comfort zone too long. Lingering in our comfort zone is not where continued learning happens. There is no such thing as perfection . The goal is to do one's best each lesson and to learn from mistakes be it grammar, pronunciation, pace of speech, etc. Lastly I think learning should be fun. I laugh together often with my regular students. That is, I believe, a good level of comfort and trust between student and teacher. A good teacher always learns agreat deal from his/her students.
