Hello!
Hello! I'm so excited to get to meet you and to help you learn English. I have studied French and Russian myself, so I love learning about other places in the world and teaching people about where I live. I worked in elementary schools as a Speech Therapist helping children learn to speak their own language better. I helped them learn to pronounce difficult sounds so they could speak clearly and I taught grammar and language skills. I'm so excited to meet new language learners and I hope to learn more about where you live too.
I am a mother of 3 children. I used to work in the schools as a speech therapist but now I love getting to stay home with them. I'm excited that I still get to work with adults and children helping them learn English online. I live in a tiny little town in the middle of the countryside in Utah. We have dogs, cows, horses and chickens. We love spending time outside. The animals and planting flowers are my favorite things! I love music and watching movies. I really enjoy reading, especially funny stories, adventure stories or stories about history. Languages are my other love. I have studied French and Russian and would love to learn more languages. I enjoy having my students teach me some new words in their language as well!

Working as a speech therapy assistant for over a decade, I learned that people need to know that they are heard and that we want to listen. I believe in giving a language learner a chance to express their thoughts as best they can, letting them know that I heard and understood them. Then I will work on the corrections and improvements needed, but I don't like interrupting right in the middle of a sentence. I let someone know the things they did right and the things that they can do better. I don't want a learner to think that they did something bad or wrong, I want them to know where they can improve and feel confident. I don't want someone to be afraid to try or to make mistakes. We all make mistakes, sometimes those mistakes make for a good laugh!
