Hello!
Hello! My name is Tyler. I’m a teacher and creator. I’ve spent nearly a decade teaching English in various formats. I also hold a J.D. My current clients include lawyers, university students, professors, and business professionals. I offer focused TOEFL and advanced English instruction for learners who want to improve their test performance or communicate more fluently in academic and professional contexts.
I have taught English for nearly a decade, including more than six years in South Korea and over 1,500 hours of one-to-one online tutoring. My clients have included university students, professors, lawyers, and business professionals. I hold a Level 5 TEFL certification and a JD. I have also worked as a professional proofreader, written material for a published TOEFL Junior textbook, and developed English workbooks, assessments, and original online lessons. I am currently creating in-depth materials for the 2026 TOEFL using an app that I created myself. Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, meditation, yoga, travel, “vibe coding,” and creating useful apps. I have spent considerable time in India, South America, and other parts of Asia. In short, I love the world, and I enjoy meeting intellectually curious students from different cultures and backgrounds. I look forward to meeting you!

My lessons are focused but personal. My first lesson with a new student always begins with goals and interests. I then use an app I built to create original, personalized content. I also have pre-built materials for TOEFL and IELTS preparation, as well as general B1–C1 English lessons on a variety of subjects. For test preparation, my materials cover test skills, question types in depth, response strategies, and more. For general academic and professional English, I often work through discussions, interviews, presentations, writing, or other materials suitable to your field. During free conversation, I not only correct your mistakes but also improve usage to help you sound clearer and more natural in your professional context. Given my background, I am especially useful in this regard for legal English.
