ADULTS ONLY 18+ I’m Jo and i`m originally from Manchester, but I’ve lived in Costa Rica for years and travelled widely across Latin America. I love meeting people from different cultures and helping them feel more confident in English. If you want a tutor who is relaxed and supportive — but still professional and focused — I’d love to meet you. My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and full of natural conversation. I’m not a strict tutor — I explain things simply, give gentle corrections, and help you sound more natural without stress or pressure. I’m a big traveller at heart and have visited over 42 countries so far. I love exploring new cultures, and I’m also a PADI Advanced Open Water diver, so I try to mix diving with my travels whenever I can. I’m definitely someone who believes that life is too short and that you have to try everything at least once. I’ve done skydiving, zip‑lining, abseiling, kayaking around the Welsh coast — anything that gives me a bit of an adrenaline rush. Before working on Cambly, I spent 25 years working in the British fashion industry, and I’ve even worked as a paranormal investigator/ghost hunter, which always surprises people. I’m also interested in holistic and natural therapies like meditation, reflexology, and Reiki, which means I’m good at helping people stay calm when they become stressed. I’ve been learning Spanish for several years, so I completely understand the challenges and frustrations that come with learning a new language as an adult. That experience helps me connect with my students and teach with understanding and patience.
