Hello!

Greetings! My name is Brittony Girton, but my students know me as Ms Britt. I am from the United States of American and have been teaching english around the world for 5 years now. I graduated from college with a degree in Studio Arts and Mathematics. Later, I got certified to teach english as a second language and now hold a TEFL certification. I am passionate about creating an environment for young learners that is creative, promotes imagination and free thinking, is safe and welcoming, and of course fun. Besides being an english teacher, I am also an artist and traveler, and believe that creativity and exploration is just as important for kids as it is for me. I have lived in other countries like Scotland, New Zealand, Vietnam and the Czech Republic. I am looking forward to meeting you. See you soon! Ms Britt

Things I love include.... Art like painting and drawing. Horseback riding because I love animals. Hiking and bicycling. Sailing and swimming because I love water.

Specialties

Teaching Style

I believe that when learning english as a second language immersion and enjoyment is key. Most of my lessons, especially for young learners, will involve hands on activities and assignments. I find that students retain and understand lessons best when there are able to participate, contribute, and do it themselves. Visuals and movement is also important for second language learners. If the student doesn't understand, then it's the teachers role to guide them to understanding, and often that involves exaggerated visuals to grasp meaning.
