John
Hello!
Hello, Cambly students! My name is John, and please call me John. I usually teach Monday to Sunday between 7:30 and 14:00 in the Philippines time zone. Although my specialty is IELTS coaching, I also teach Business English, Money and Finance, Job Interviewing, Supply Chain Management, Group Lessons, and structured speaking (e.g., giving opinions, future predictions, and agreeing or disagreeing). I love variety and will suggest a few different English-speaking activities. With over 10 1/2 years of online teaching experience and more than 23,000 interactive lessons on Cambly, I utilize my expertise to help adult learners (18 and above) achieve their English language goals. I'm a CELTA-certified English teacher and a highly rated IELTS Speaking Coach. To ensure the most effective learning experience, I primarily offer 30-minute sessions. I strongly suggest avoiding 15-minute lessons. New student reservations are prioritized based on existing commitments to my Cambly Pro students, regular students, and group lessons. Please ensure you book slots based on your time zone. Lastly, message me if you can't find an opening on my schedule. I look forward to partnering with you on your English language journey! 😃
I've been living in the Philippines for over 7 years. Currently, my Filipina wife and I reside in Bacolod City, referred to as the "City of Smiles". It represents the locals' spirit and welcoming nature. Here is a fun fact about me. During my lifetime, I've lived in 7 different countries: the USA, Japan, West Germany, Chile, Peru, Thailand, and the Philippines. In addition, I spent several months in Costa Rica.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is a mixture of a demonstrator, a facilitator, and a delegator. I use photos and images to demonstrate. As a facilitator, I believe in self-learning and allowing my students to be involved in their sessions. Lastly, as a delegator, I want my students to feel independent and have the freedom of choice. You can pick your own topics for discussion.
