Why take this course?
To be successful in academic settings, you need to practice specific skills related to both understanding and producing language. This course will help you develop fundamental skills that are the building blocks for understanding academic topics and participating in academic conversations.
What you will learn
This course concentrates on four main language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. These skills are organized into three units which will explore the techniques and strategies needed to be successful in academic settings. In each lesson, you will practice a specific situation, such as listening for main ideas, organizing a paragraph, or asking for clarification. You will also learn academic vocabulary and phrases relating to content topics.
