Teaching Experience: I have taught violin for four years. I teach private students as well as group classes. I currently have about 30 students ranging from ages 8 to adult. In lessons, we cover music reading, music theory, movement and rhythm, and violin performance.
Also, from 2008-2009, I was a special education aid. This job entailed assisting special needs high school students both in their classes and in tutoring sessions between classes. Each student was different in terms of the help they needed. Some would only need occasional reminding to stay on task, while others required more involved instruction and encouragement. Subjects I tutored included math, english, biology, chemistry, health and history.
Interests: Currently, my main interest is acting and since last fall, I have been involved in a number of theater productions including "Romeo and Juliet" and "Electra".
I teach violin and occasionally perform so I continue to be interested in music. I like classical music most of all, but I enjoy music from other genres as well.
I also like breakdancing and I have gained an appreciation for the culture and music surrounding that style of dance.
Other interests include philosophy, spirituality and nature.
Education: I studied music at the University of Virginia with a focus in violin performance and chamber music.
I also took many liberal arts courses in english literature, fiction writing, history, philosophy astronomy, and German.
I also received my MFA in film production from the University of Southern California in 2013. This program included classes in all aspects of film production.
I am currently an acting student at the Playhouse West School in Los Angeles.
