**Due to starting university, my schedule will be more limited** Hi, my name is Sonja! I'm new to professionally teaching English, but teaching has always been my passion, so I know we will have an amazing experience together. I have a 168 hour TEFL certificate and took a specialized course for online teaching. I also have an Associate's degree. I understand the struggles of learning a second language, as I started my journey of learning Spanish 13 years ago, and even now as a fluent speaker, there are still aspects I need to work on! Learning another language is hard, but I am here to support you through this and give you an enjoyable and effective learning experience! I look forward to getting to know you and teaching English!
I have a passion for languages. I love learning languages and am trying to learn multiple languages right now. I am fluent in Spanish, and I speak some Portuguese. Language is the key to connection, and connection is what makes us human, so I am passionate about it. I love learning anything else, too. I was valedictorian of my class, mostly because I loved learning so much. I enjoyed biology, math, English, and history so much. I have a thirst for knowledge and am happiest when I am learning. I also love to read, hike, paint, and do anything in nature. Being in nature brings me peace, as I observe the world at its core form.

In my teaching, I know it is extremely important to be student focused and to let you explore the language, rather than listening to me lecture for 30 minutes straight. I usually start with a quick lead-in or review, and then we get into learning new language, activities, and really practicing the language as much as possible!
