Hi! I'm John from Chicago, Illinois, USA. I would love to help you learn and perfect your English! Together we will have a rewarding experience in achieving your goals. I have a great deal of experience working in corporate America, as well as personal and leisure travel throughout Latin America, Europe, and Asia. I have also lived throughout the world, including Mexico City, Mexico, and San Francisco, California, USA. Some of my favorite travel destinations in recent years include Asuncion, Paraguay, and Riga, Latvia, among others. My next dream trip is to Brazil! My other hobbies include music and pop culture, world events and political news, reading and watching science fiction, triathlons, swimming, cycling, and going to the beach. My goal is to use my knowledge of spelling, grammar, and writing, along with my interest in world cultures and languages to help you practice whatever areas of English are important to you. I am also an intermediate Spanish speaker and know a little bit of Italian and Portuguese as well. It is my goal to help you become comfortable with your overall understanding of the English language, perfect your grammar, and learn how to discuss the topics that are important to you with confidence and all the tools you need to be successful. I am a lifelong learner with a variety of experiences in the corporate and non-profit worlds. My biggest passions include helping others, learning languages, travel, exercise, and health. I am not fluent in Spanish, but it is a long-term goal of mine that I have been striving to achieve for many years. My other goal is to visit every Spanish-speaking country (so far I have made it to Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina). I also have visited many other countries outside of the Spanish-speaking world and hope to continue. I also love nature, animals, and being outside. I have two cats named Cheech and Mijo. I also love discussing business and the software industry, television, pop culture, history, cooking, science fiction, and world events. Fun fact: I can name every capital of every country in the world! PS: I'm not a big fan of sports! I am happy to discuss whatever you would like, but just so you know, I don't have much sports knowledge.

I am a patient and friendly tutor with a passion for world affairs, geography, and other cultures. It is my goal to make students feel comfortable in speaking with me. I also try to incorporate world events, information about the student's hobbies, and my own personal experiences and passions when working with students. It is very important to me to work with students to identify their strengths as well as their overall goals in order to maximize the value in the time we have together. Most importantly, I want to learn from my students and determine what motivates them and aspects of learning English has been difficult so we can improve together.
