Hello! My name is Martha, and I'm an American living in Finland, where I recently graduated from the University of Helsinki with a master's in Global Environmental Sustainability. I'm very passionate about meeting interesting people from different places and learning all about their cultures - I hope to have engaging conversations with English learners from all around the world here on Cambly! Teaching has always been important to me - my goal in life is to be a university professor after completing a Ph.D., but I've always had a special passion for teaching English as a second language. Coming from a bilingual household, I've always known that speaking the "international language" (English, of course!) is super important. So, let's chat!
I'm an avid traveler, and am especially passionate about seeing areas off the beaten path! I particularly love to go on long hikes in foreign countries to see beautiful and unfamiliar landscapes. Aside from travel, I love to study languages and instruments. I currently play the banjo, but I also have many years of experience with guitar and piano. If you love music, I would love to talk to you about it! I'm also very passionate about environmentalism, international environmental politics, sustainability science, physics, and essentially any topics similar to these!
