Being multilingual is a wonderful gift that I cherish every day. Speaking English, Spanish, and Portuguese has opened doors for me in terms of communication, cultural understanding, and personal growth. Whether it's exchanging stories with a Portuguese speaker, having a conversation with a Spanish speaker, or expressing myself in English, I feel enriched by the experiences that each language brings. My teaching style as an English teacher is the communicative approach. This approach focuses on teaching the language in context and creating real-life situations for students to use the language. Utilizing my background in performing arts, students are encouraged to communicate and use the language actively, rather than just passively receiving information. The teacher serves as a facilitator, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for the students to practice their skills. The communicative approach also places emphasis on developing all language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and it is adaptable to various levels of proficiency and learning styles. By providing opportunities for authentic communication, students develop confidence in their ability to use the language, and they become more engaged and motivated in the learning process.
