Hello, my name is Alastair and I'm a TEFL qualified teacher with a love of the English language. I have lived in both Australia and Scotland, currently living in Scotland and am keen to meet students from different countries. As a published writer I have a lot of experience with written English, including grammar rules, spelling and punctuation. I am easy going, friendly and relaxed, patience is second nature to me even under difficult circumstances.
I lived in Australia for many years and am very familiar with Australian and New Zealand English, society and culture. I have worked in many different vocations from factories to IT. I have travelled in Australia, Britain, Denmark and Sweden. I love writing, travel, drawing and photography. I have also written several books that have been published on Amazon as well as many articles and reviews published elsewhere.

I start with basic conversations to find out what students are interested in and then I try to organise lesson plans to suit their particular interests and passions. I focus primarily on speaking, listening and writing English, utilising video and screen sharing software. Learning with me is like having a conversation, giving the student the chance to develop their own style of speaking and writing.
