Hello! My name is Karen! I am a tutor from Illinois in the USA. I have been tutoring English online since 2017. I am a wife and a mother of two children. Before my most recent teaching experience online, I had volunteered at my children's school to help with their learning-to-read curriculum. My classes offer a variety of ways to help you improve your English whether you are just beginning to learn the English language, or more advanced with your skills. Together we will learn proper pronunciation, expand your vocabulary and grammar, and build your confidence as an English speaker. I hope that my classroom is inviting and a fun environment to learn in. I look forward to seeing you soon!
I am very passionate about traveling and learning about other cultures. Throughout the past 20+ years I have traveled extensively to 6 continents and over 15 countries. I love meeting new people from all over the world. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. Outside of my classroom I love going on adventures and creating lifelong memories with my husband and two children. I love hiking and being outdoors in nature. As a family we enjoy many outdoor adventurous activities, such as bike riding, rock climbing, swimming, frisbee golf, soccer, camping, or just staying in for a family movie night or playing board games. I look forward to seeing you in my classroom and learning more about you!

I am a very energetic tutor and my goal with tutoring is to make learning English fun! I am a kind and patient tutor who is able to help you improve your pronunciation, grammar, listening, and conversational speaking skills. I am able to adapt my tutoring to meet the student on their current English speaking level, whether that be through serious conversation or through songs, games, and laughter. I love seeing the joy that comes across a student's face when we can break through the language barriers and communicate with one another.
