I was born in South Africa, lived in London for a time, and came to the United States in my late teens. I now live in sunny Orlando, Florida and love going to the many theme parks here, my Boston Terrier dog Jack, and spending time on the beach. I love to read -- poetry, the classics, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, James Patterson and Steven King to name a few of my favorites. I have a little exposure to Minecraft and Pokeman and would love to learn more about these! .

Let's have class! TEACHING STYLE: Every child is unique with different strengths and difficulties. I assess the skills of each child and work to meet them in the most effective way. I also try to build a good relationship with the student so they will both work hard in and enjoy our classes. I encourage parental suggestions and have found their communi-cations to be very helpful. SPECIFIC INFORMATION: I focus on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, intonation, reading and conversational skills. I will give the student tips that help learn to link vocabulary words to other words, and how to sound out new words. Positive reinforcement should balance corrections; this increases confidence. I prepare for each class, and after class I send feedback specifically describing the student's performance and perhaps recommending material that can be used at home. In addition to using Cambly course material, I also use other material specifically designed to meet individual student needs. With each class I emphasize the importance of asking for help when the student does not understand, and that mistakes are ok -- they help us learn. SCHEDULING: I try to maintain a consistent schedule but It does vary occasionally. I am also understanding when your schedule changes! I look forward to meeting your child! Teacher Jenn
