My name is Koketso, but most people call me Koki. I'm a native English speaker currently living in Gaborone, Botswana. With over 8 years of experience in transcription and translation between English and Setswana — my two native languages — I bring a deep understanding of how language works at its core. My teaching specialties are General Conversation, Interview Preparation, and Business English. My interests are diverse, ranging from reading to yoga, camping, and travel. But what truly inspires me is working with people and helping them achieve their goals. That's why I've decided to become a tutor on Cambly - it allows me to give back and see the progress and 'wins' of others. I strongly believe in celebrating diversity and investing time in learning about new cultures, languages, and traveling. This year, my mission is to learn the language of love, French. I'm also currently studying German, so I understand the dedication it takes to learn a new language. I believe that language is a gateway to culture and by learning a new language, we can gain a deeper understanding of the world around us.

As a teacher, I always strive to be friendly, enthusiastic, and respectful. Throughout my teaching experience, I've worked with people at different levels of English language proficiency, and I take pride in my ability to be patient and break down concepts to an individual's level of understanding. I've also interacted with individuals from various cultural backgrounds who had different fluency levels and accents in personal and professional settings. My teaching style is highly adaptable, and I believe in putting emphasis on practice. I employ an individual approach, tailoring my lessons to the specific needs of each learner. I want my students to feel relaxed yet enthusiastic about learning, so I encourage them to actively participate in class. I offer both student- and teacher-led lessons, depending on the student's level of confidence, and set targets to help improve their conversational skills. During my interactive and supportive lessons, I focus on grammar, pronunciation, and increasing vocabulary.
