Hello! I’m Alissa, and I live in the USA. I hold a degree in English, and I have been teaching for over seven years. I first worked as a classroom teacher, in which I taught reading, writing, and grammar to native speakers. For the past four years, I have worked as an online teacher, in which I teach students who are learning to speak English as a second language. I have helped over 1200 students improve their pronunciation, conversation skills, and speaking confidence. I would love to help you build your English skills! I look forward to talking with you!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, listening to music, singing, and running outdoors. I also spend time with my friends, my family, and my two pets. I especially like to talk about literature and music, but I would also be happy to speak with you about your interests, hobbies, career, or daily life!

When working one-on-one with a student, I believe in adjusting my teaching to meet the student’s needs and learning style. I recognize that learning a new skill can sometimes be intimidating and frustrating, so I always teach with patience, encouragement, and kindness. I often incorporate additional images, props, songs, and toys into my lessons. My goal is for students to feel comfortable speaking and expressing their thoughts and ideas. Then, I can help them to polish their pronunciation, grammar, and intonation if needed. When students are ready, I always try to incorporate supplemental conversation into the lesson.
