Hello. My name is Cleta. I am a native English speaker and a TEFL-Certified ESL Teacher. My specialties are: Business English; career advancement, reading comprehension; writing; vocabulary; grammar; presentations and proposals; travel preparation; social interaction; and casual conversation. I believe the gift of communication empowers us to effectively exchange ideas, thoughts, feelings and so much more. While I am delighted to bring this gift to individuals around the world, it is the gift I receive from my students that brings the most joy.
What makes my classes special? Fun fact: In addition to being a skilled writer, I am a published poet with the ability to put a jingle, rhyme, rhythm, or tune to common grammar rules. Jingles are great for memory and retention. This is a proven technique in marketing and advertising that works just as well with English learners.

I’ve found a philosophical style to be the most popular among adult learners. I take an abstract-thought approach to teaching, encouraging my students to do the same by engaging in thought-provoking discussions on a variety of topics. Additionally, a good language lesson will have 3 attributes: 1. well-defined goals and objectives 2. an exciting, fun, engaging and supportive atmosphere 3. and an 80 to 20 ratio of student to teacher talking time
