IELTS Speaking Expert & Business English Tutor | 4 Years & 3000+ Hours Experience | Degree & 120-Hour TEFL Certified I am a 38 year old TEFL/TESOL certified tutor from England in the United Kingdom. I am a Native English Speaker, I was born and raised in England, and I speak with a Standard British Accent (Received Pronunciation). I have been working as an English tutor on Cambly since June 2022 and I have had over 3000 hours of English tutoring experience since then. I became TEFL/TESOL certified in May 2023. I was educated at Lancaster University in the north of England where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Film & Cultural Studies. I have extensive experience in teaching Business English (both Intermediate and Advanced levels), Job Interview preparation, as well as IELTS speaking exam preparation to students, covering all three parts of the speaking exam structure. My teaching style is a creative one that is structured around the specific learning needs of a student, as I know from my experience as a tutor that each student has their own individual and unique learning path. As a method of helping students to improve their pronunciation, I place a primary focus on stressed syllables and intonation, and I also provide phonetic forms of words. For grammar, I use a range of learning materials including grammatical structures such as tenses, articles, prepositions, and conditionals. I also help students learn new vocabulary words and phrases using various learning resources, including phrasal verbs and idioms. My hobbies include music production and listening to music, watching movies (any other David Lynch fans out there?), writing and cycling. I also love traveling and hiking, and exploring the amazing natural world we live in. If you are interested in any of these hobbies yourself I would love to discuss them with you! My teaching style is: The Facilitator, and my lessons are uniquely structured around the specific learning needs of the student. I love to encourage independent thought and I like to ask questions instead of simply always giving the student answers. I find that this tutoring style most effectively encourages student growth, particularly within the framework of tutoring individual students, as opposed to teaching a classroom of students. My main focus in lessons is to ensure it caters to where the student is at in their learning journey, and to provide a unique, tailored methodology and learning materials that are supportive but also constructively challenging to the student, so as to assist the student with both increasing their overall level of English and progress toward fluency. I also provide useful corrections during lessons and detailed, constructive feedback to conclude them. I welcome any questions a student might have about the lessons or about any of the learning materials.
