I'm a language enthusiast at heart — and I mean that literally. I'm currently on my own journey learning Spanish, which keeps me grounded in what it actually feels like to work through the challenges of a second language. That experience makes me a more empathetic tutor, and I think it shows in how I work with students. Outside of teaching, I love the outdoors — hiking, and e-biking are regular parts of my life, and I've even done a couple of winter camping trips in northern Minnesota (yes, intentionally). Music is another big passion; I've been playing drums since childhood and also enjoying playing guitar and bass. What I find most rewarding about tutoring is the genuine connection it creates. Over the years my students have taught me as much as I've taught them — about their cultures, their cuisines, their professional worlds. That exchange is something I genuinely look forward to in every lesson.

My approach is structured but flexible — I build each lesson around your specific goals, your current level, and the way you actually use English in your life or work. For pronunciation and accent refinement, I start with a thorough assessment to understand your objectives and identify the specific sounds or patterns we should prioritize. From there, lessons typically draw on minimal pairs, intonation and stress work, reduction techniques, and vocal placement — all grounded in real conversation rather than drills for their own sake. For Business English, I focus on the communication skills that matter most in professional settings: presentations, meetings, negotiation language, email writing, and the kind of confident, natural fluency that makes a real impression on colleagues and clients. For exam preparation (IELTS and TOEFL speaking), I combine targeted strategy work with detailed, personalized feedback so you know exactly where you stand and what to focus on before test day.
