Hello!
Hi. My name is Doris, but my Ecuadorian friends know me as “EcuaDoris”. I have been a volunteer music teacher for more than ten years, and an online English teacher for three years. I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and am a retired Hotel owner. I lived in Alaska for 34 years, and now I’m thawing out on the beautiful coast of Ecuador. Let’s talk about getting a job interview in the USA, or how to tune a guitar! I’m sure that we’ll have a great time!
I hold both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Business Administration, an 80 hour on-line TEFL certificate, and am currently retired. My career included responsibility for interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising employees in the retail and hospitality industries. I have worked as a union employee, an unrepresented employee, a supervisor, a manager, an entrepreneur, and a business owner. I am now a teacher who loves working with my hands to fix things around the house, and create art projects. I love to play, and teach people how to play, the trumpet. I have my own rock and roll band where I sing and play the piano… so I guess I can say that music is my thing! I like to ride my bike or my motorcycle, walk on the beach, snorkel and scuba dive. When I lived in Alaska (for 34 years), I loved fishing, playing ice hockey, and riding my snowmachine through unbroken snow to remote cabins. Now I am thawing out on the beautiful coast of Ecuador, and enjoy dipping my toes in the warm ocean water. What’s going on in your life right now? What do you like to do? What do you want to do? I’m a rather outgoing person that likes to make other people feel comfortable. I offer classes to help improve speaking, listening, grammar, and pronunciation. I’m fair about telling you what mistakes you are making, and I give great, easy to remember hints on how to fix them. You won’t feel intimidated by my corrections. I work well with beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. We'll start with basic stuff that you already know, like… what’s your favorite color, where are you from… and we’ll move on to more scary stuff as you are ready. You’ll feel ok about trying new things with me.
