Margerette
Hello!
*Focus on accent reduction, discussion-based conversations, confidence building, and skills for dealing with anxiety* Hello, my name is Margerette and I would love to help you improve your English! I have been tutoring on Cambly for 3 years and have helped 1,500+ students from around the world improve their English. Learning another language can be intimidating and I work well with anxious or shy individuals who need encouragement and patience. I also work well with advanced learners who need practice discussing challenging topics and getting comfortable voicing their opinion in English.
When I am not studying Arabic, I love playing the piano, visiting with my friends, walking around Cairo, and kayaking on the Nile river.

Teaching Style
My tutoring focus includes: improving listening skills by watching short videos about interesting topics; giving students the tools to apply the English they know during conversation when the pressure makes them forget what they learned; increasing vocabulary with practice using them correctly in sentences; and training for interviews, including practice interviews and skills for how to answer interview questions well. *I don't teach students under 16* Guidlines for my classroom: Feeling comfortable while speaking and learning is my top priority for students. If I suggest a discussion topic or ask a question that makes you uncomfortable, please let me know and we can change the subject. Although I do my best to choose topics carefully and sensitively, I will never be offended if something makes you uncomfortable. For many students, their main goal is simply to speak with a native speaker. While I create a friendly and relaxed environment for casual conversation, I still maintain a professional student-teacher relationship. I do not tolerate inappropriate questions about my personal life, flirting, or other interactions that make me uncomfortable. If a student crosses this boundary, I will remind them of these guidelines. Please limit messaging outside of class to lesson-related information or exciting personal news you would like to share. (I genuinely enjoy hearing important updates from students, especially when they don’t want to wait until class!) My interactions both inside and outside of class follow Cambly’s professionalism policies. It is natural for friendships to develop through lessons, especially with long-term students. However, this happens only at a pace that both the student and I are comfortable with.
