I am a 27 year old teacher who loves traveling, the ocean, hiking, meeting new people, and studying folklore, ancient traditions, and Indigenous cultures. I traveled to Guatemala and stayed with the Mayan people for 3 months learning from their traditional wisdom. In 2020, my husband and our daughter traveled to Central America. We volunteered on a permaculture farm in Costa Rica. Then, we lived in Tulum, Mexico & Guatemala for about a year. Now I live in Italy with my small family. I speak Spanish, Italian, and I'm learning Irish (Gaeilge). I am fluent in Italian and I taught formally at an Italian middle school teaching them English. I went to University in Santa Barbara where I got my degree in Biology and Liberal Arts - so I can definitely help you speak English with any of the sciences! You can usually find me cooking in my kitchen, learning new songs to sing, playing music and learning new instruments, and doing arts and crafts. I am a walking encyclopedia and I know many things about many different subjects. I am always full of fun facts. I'm excited to meet you and help push you towards your English learning goals.
About my teaching style: I have been on Cambly for 4 years and this is an overview of what you can expect within a lesson. If you have your own idea of what you want to do, that's great we'll do it. However with those who will follow me, this is my style: For beginners, I have you repeat basic sentences over and over and give you visual cues for what it is. I made a long Google doc with basic saying and I also act them out live like "I am opening a book" and "I am reading a book" as I have the book in front of me. For intermediate to advanced, I like to give you an article as a warm up and then do free conversation where I type to you and sometimes interrupt you (in good respectful timing) to correct you!

With beginners of English, I am the main speaker, so you can become accustomed to listening to English. With Intermmediate-Advanced levels, I want to hear you speak more and to be able to share your passions, opinions, and about your life. I am very kind, friendly, patient, and understanding. I will help your self-esteem and confidence shine fully so that you can accept and love yourself for where you are currently. I correct you immediately and use a lot of repetition. We will share notes together to keep track of your progress, any blocks to work on, and areas where you shine.
