Toby
Hello!
Hello everyone and a pleasure to meet you. My name's Toby and I've gained some fantastic teaching experience working in Romania. I have taught a variety of different types of English lessons including helping students with IELTS preparation. I'm a huge football fan, traveler, travel writer music enthusiast (as some of you already know). I also love discussion philosophy, religion and psychology among other things. Overall, I really enjoy teaching on a 1-1 basis, and always try to do it with a smile on my face! I love meeting you all and how I really enjoy working on Cambly! Each day I try my best and appreciate your efforts in the classroom too. Sometimes it isn't easy to practice English with a new person. If you feel like giving me some feedback, good or bad, just drop me a message and let me know your thoughts. Would be much appreciated! Thank you so much!
I read widely on a number of topics such as politics, economics, business, religion and spirituality and love to talk about sport when the appropriate occasion arises. I have a passion for life, travel, adventure and fun. I love to keep fit and exercise regularly and therefore work hard to keep a healthy work-life balance. In terms of English teaching, I am able to teach Cambridge, predominantly IELTS, group courses, business English and more.

Teaching Style
I try to be interactive as possible and particularly try to encourage students to practice their speaking skills (whatever the level) as soon as possible. I teach without much, if any, criticism in order to help develop confidence and adopt a more positive reinforcement type of teaching style. I try to engage students with fun games in order to tackle the grammar, engage them with interesting topics, and enjoy using a variety of different resources such as Keynote Ted talks and resources from the BBC learning in order to develop vocabulary, reading and listening skills. While, I'd say I'm not necessarily the perfect teacher, I'm always trying to improve myself and so far I've really enjoyed the journey. Overall, I'd say I use more of a collaborative style rather than authoritative style of teaching.
