Farin
Hello!
Hi! My name is Teacher Farin and I was born in London, England but moved to Canada when I was ten years old. I have over nineteen years experience working with students of all ages and I love to make learning a new language easy and fun! Feel free to call me for a chat! I am really excited to meet you!
I love kayaking, hiking, swimming, riding my bike, playing games and team sports, dancing, knitting, colouring, chatting with family and friends, cooking delicious food, feeling the sun on my face, getting lost in a good book or a foreign show, organizing, problem-solving, volunteering, journaling, rearranging furniture, tarot, astrology, astronomy, nature, learning new languages and about new cultures and peoples as well as ancient civilizations and possible extra-terrestrials, philosophizing about life, the universe and everything, and playing with my cat!

Teaching Style
I am energetic, humorous, kind, patient, consistent but adaptable! I like to use TPR, facial expression, body language, and both real and digital props to make learning English fun and engaging! I like to create a welcoming and safe classroom environment where students feel comfortable practicing their pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, phonics, reading, spelling, and writing. I am detail-oriented but my error correction is always gentle and affirmative. I encourage student output in the form of full sentences through conversational interaction, by using both scaffolding and extension as needed, with multiple opportunities for practice and frequent comprehension checks. When possible, I love to send students a write-up of all the full sentences they used in class so that they can practice at home and see their progress.
