Hi, I'm a native English speaker from the United Kingdom. Myself and my husband are both English Tutors, we have been married for over 30yrs. We spent over 10yrs living in Thailand, we lived both in the South and Central areas of the country. Having lived in Asia for so many years and having learnt the Thai language I understand the particular difficulties those from Thailand, Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong Japan and from other places within Asia have with learning English. I'm from the South East originally, close to Wimbledon the home of Tennis. When we moved back to the UK from having lived in Thailand for over 10years we decided to relocate to the South Coast about 30 minutes from Brighton, just a short drive away from Seven Sisters/Birling Gap and about 1 hour from London by train. Having learnt a second language myself I think this helps me understand the difficulties that a language learner can have. For me it was important to learn the language of the country I was living in, it really helped me to feel part of the community. I am an enthusiastic sourdough bread baker. I bake 2 or 3 times a week. I enjoy watching movies especially those that are musicals and playing board games, my favourite being Settlers of Catan.

I have a fairly relaxed and friendly teaching manner which will help ease any nerves you may have. I know from experience it can be scary to talk in another language to a native speaker but please don't let this worry you because I really want to listen to your spoken English and converse with you whilst at the same time listening out for any pronunciation errors, word whiskers or any other errors you may have and I try to be quick to correct these as I really want to help you speak more naturally. Having lived in Asia for over 10 years I am particularly suited to English learners from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong,Thailand and Japan.
