Christina
Hello!
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm a native English speaker from south east England, near London. I have lived in the UK my whole life, but my family background is both British and Greek, and I love travelling and getting to know people from around the world and sharing our cultures! My professional background has largely been in museums, heritage and academia, but my greatest passion in life has always been for language; I love helping others improve their English, and I myself take great pleasure in expanding my foreign language skills. In particular, over the past few years I have been learning Japanese - so I understand very well both the fun and challenges that come with learning a language! I also absolutely love grammar! (I know, a bit weird - not many people will confess to enjoying grammar!) That doesn't mean that we'll spend hours pouring over grammar points, but it does mean that if you have any questions about grammar, if there is anything that is confusing you, I will be really glad to help!
Other than languages, history and culture, I also enjoy travelling, music, books and films (especially crime or fantasy stories), Zumba, science and nature, and lots of other things, so I'll be happy to talk with you about any topics you like!

Teaching Style
Every student is different, so when we start, we can discuss what level you are currently at and what you are aiming to achieve and I will tailor the lessons to your interests and goals. My main aim is to provide helpful, structured lessons that are fun, and to encourage and support you in your learning. I believe that it is important to practise all four skills regularly (speaking, listening, reading and writing), so we can do a variety of activities to give you opportunities to practise these, but with a particular focus on speaking, listening and natural conversation - as I can offer you the chance to get used to understanding a native British accent, and a safe space to practise speaking naturally and confidently. Mistakes are a normal and useful part of learning, so please don't be shy, and don't worry about getting everything 100% perfect!
