Hello!
Hi! My name is Ava. I am a native to the United States. I was born in California, and have lived in several states throughout the U.S. and I have also spent a lot of time living and travelling in several countries outside of the United States, including Central America, Eastern and Western European countries. I love to meet new people and exchange cultural information and insights. Some of the topics I enjoy speaking about are, Media and entertainment, books, movies and music, cooking, social topics and, fashion just to name a few. My teaching style is to let you guide the topic if that is your preference. I have a fun and no-stress teaching style. I believe that through talking, using the words you already know, we can build your vocabulary from there and have enjoyable, knowledge-building conversations that increase your English fluency. I like to meet new people and learn about different perspectives regarding a variety of topics. I have a Master's degree in Media, Peace and Conflict studies. I have over 20 years as a leadership development and training and facilitation professional. Through my consulting company, I present to international audiences on the importance of media literacy skills acquisition for content creators. As well, I help business create better, more inclusive, and socially responsible content.

Teaching Style
As I do not have the teaching resources to work with children, I tutor students ages 18 and over. Parent's please see Cambly Kids for your child's tutoring needs. My teaching style is to have as much fun as possible. That means that I foster an easy-going approach to learning. I will work with you in the way that you prefer to learn and speak English. English can be complicated in many respects, but it also offers a lot of expressions which communicate one's feelings and sentiments and make the language fun and versatile. Starting with what you already know, we will build a great foundation to incorporate useful vocabulary that will help you be easily understood. We'll also talk about subtleties of the language that help you understand some of it's hidden meanings.
