Hi!!! I'm Johanna and I'm an English teacher living on the Portuguese island of Madeira. I love teaching all ages and levels, and I have been teaching for over 25 years.
I'm also a fitness instructor and a keen animal lover. I travelled around the world as a professional dancer before I became a teacher full time.

I'm a very interactive person, I love to talk about topical subjects, family and friends, likes and dislikes. I believe that the best way to learn a new language or improve your learning is with conversation and dialogue. Grammar drills are also important but application is better with spoken exercises. I like to adjust my teaching style to suit each individual learner and make each student feel comfortable and successful. I have taught all levels and ages although I really enjoy teaching intermediate levels.
