Hello!
Hi! My name is Jaklyn and I enjoy working with students of all ages. I live in New York, in the United States, but I've moved around quite a bit–spending about 12 years in Atlanta, Georgia, and even working on a cruise ship before that. I enjoy encouraging my students to speak as much as possible in their classes, to ask questions, and not to be afraid of making mistakes–they're one of the best ways to learn!
I enjoy cooking and eating delicious vegetarian meals, growing my own food and medicinal herbs, natural medicine, books, movies, crafting, creating, traveling, hiking, camping, running, playing board games, listening to old music and discovering new, and meeting people from different cultures. I also enjoy talking with my students about almost anything, because I believe there are always new and interesting things to learn, along with endless new vocabulary and phrases to pick up!

I like to adapt my lessons based on the needs and interests of my students. That means we can focus on anything like casual conversation, reading and discussion, more structured lessons with detailed feedback, and everything in between. I believe people have different learning styles and I adapt my methods of teaching and lesson goals to best guide them.
