Teaching Style
As an English teacher, my aim is to be a reliable and valuable guide, to help students reach personal goals with English, to unlock the potential for achieving gains in proficiency and advances toward fluency. I create an atmosphere that is encouraging and engaging, interesting and fun, with positive feedback and reinforcement of key concepts. I look for teachable moments in class, where thinking can lead to discoveries for the student. When students speak of their goals, I always tell them: "You can do it!" I clear away the doubts to help them see the way. Then we work together on a plan, creating and following a structure best suited to that student and their goals. I am versatile and adaptable to needs, abilities and personalities. I help learners see that becoming more fluent is as simple as starting to use English more in daily life, using English each day and in new ways. When students are conversational, I encourage conversing on a variety of different topics, to expand the proficiency and knowledge of English, because varied and extensive communication is so vital for achieving fluency.
