Hello!
Hello everyone, my name is Alex and I am very excited to meet students like you, from around the world, who want to speak English! I always admire my students for their efforts and constant growth and courage to speak a second language. I find it exhilarating working online helping students improve their English skills. We have the opportunity to have spontaneous discussions about life, work, parenting, hobbies, business, foreign affairs, philosophy and more. We can also use our class time to prepare for tests, read short passages and discuss articles, educational videos, music, and more. I can help my students with pronunciation and increase their confidence in English. My degrees are in education, philosophy, linguistics, and TESOL. I've had training in professional development, public speaking, and I know my way around the business world and its language. Finally, I can guide each student in understanding advanced topics. Moreover, the topic of traveling is also very popular and there is always so much to learn about people, cultures, history, and geography. I am a lifetime learner and student myself. I enjoy spending time with my children, playing and reading with them, cooking, baking, swimming, yoga, and sometimes journaling.
I am 33 years old and I am from beautiful Colorado, USA but now I live in another beautiful country named Greece or Hellas. I have been an online English tutor for the last seven years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Education and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics & TESOL. I have two sons, a 3 year old and and 1 year old. Being a mother is my full time job :) and I tutor my lovely students mornings or evenings and weekends. I generally enjoy being in nature when possible. I love taking long walks, swimming, and hiking. I like taking my kids to the library and at home we read books, dance, listen to music, and I bake lots with my older son who loves cookies, muffins and bread. I am knowledgable and passionate about nutrition and healthy diets so I also pass this wisdom on to my kids and students. When I have time to read and do research I look for topics like psychology, self-help, spirituality, parenting, children development, history and the modern world. I enjoy business, marketing, and sales, or even news on politics and the economy. Its nice to share such topics during class time with students and thus advancing their skills.

I am friendly, patient and I have a calm voice. I like smiling, listening carefully and I respect all students. It is my biggest goal to help students succeed in their educational, personal and professional goals. It makes me very happy to see the progress in students. I like to offer students ideas and choices of how we can have a productive class. Some students prefer having material to focus on and others like a combination of lesson-based and free-talk. I adjust my speaking pace to the level of my students but I generally speak with clarity and I use body language and hand gestures for comprehension too. We can also use the chat box and the translator for clarifications, grammar, spelling, etc. I offer students feedback/corrections during class and after class via message.
