John
Hello!
Hi everyone, I'm an English teacher from the UK, but now live in France. I have taught English as a foreign language to secondary students and adults in Morocco, Spain, Brunei and France. I look forward to meeting you! John
Although I was born and educated in the UK, I have spent many years in the countries mentioned above. In all those countries I taught English, and in Spain I also taught French which I studied at university. When I first went overseas to work, someone advised me to keep a good balance of patience, tolerance and a sense of humour, and that advice has served me well over the years. In all of the countries where I have lived, I have learned so many useful and interesting things, but nothing more so than the importance of treating people kindly and with respect. I enjoy reading fiction in English, French and Spanish, am a keen tennis player, am very fond of animals and nature, and am also interested in gardening.

Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching English, have many years of experience, and fully understand the difficulties that learners have speaking, listening, reading and writing in a language that is not their mother tongue. I have a fairly neutral accent. I am always friendly, calm and patient with students and appreciate that people learn at different speeds and in different ways. I like to find what works best for each person, and concentrate my attention on that, to ensure that learning is fun and achieves the learner's goals. Most of my teaching experience has been with intermediate and advanced students, so I definitely prefer not to teach beginners. Also, I am currently focusing all my attention on helping adults improve the standard of their spoken English.
