I've taught all ability levels from aged 2 -70+ years (but online: strictly adults only). I have taught in the countryside and in the city. I have been a teacher for nearly 15 years. I began in the countryside of north-east Thailand and became quite fluent in Thai language. I was included in local events such as weddings and village festivals, and I often ate with my neighbours, sharing their food, and they taught me how to hunt in the rice fields. As a part of the local community, this was one of the most amazing years of my life, despite the cold showers and squat toilets! In the UK I wrote, recorded and performed original music at local venues, writing my own songs, singing and playing the acoustic guitar. I am also a developer of a free online game-world, for which I write scripts (story, dialogue, etc.) and direct the artwork. I love music, literature, anime, games, apples, seafood, clever dogs, calm cats.

Having learned a language myself by being fully immersed I came to understand that the world's best language learners learn with their eyes and ears, before producing language themselves, from normal situations as life goes on around them... every day at breakfast time. I have used this insight very successfully to help students produce their own language with confidence and fluency when speaking on very many different topics. I tend to be passionate and enthusiastic, but also very patient and sympathetic.
