Hello!
Hi there. Nice to meet you. My name is Gary, but you can also call me “Curry Rice.” I am an American who has lived in Taiwan for more than 34 years. Over the years, I have taught children and adults, including housewives, doctors, and teachers. Some of my former students first studied with me as children and have gone on to successful professional careers. I have taught in intensive language academies and worked with kindergarten students in private home classes. I was also a part-owner of a cram school near SOGO Department Store in Taipei, which served more than 250 students over several years. Currently, I divide my time between Taiwan and the Philippines, where I hold permanent residency in both countries. I usually teach English from home, but you may occasionally find me teaching under a mango tree or in a Starbucks or 85°C café. I really enjoy teaching English… and drinking coffee. 嗨，你好，很高興認識你。 我叫 Gary，不過你也可以叫我「Curry Rice」。 我是美國人，在台灣居住超過三十四年。多年來，我教過兒童與成人，包括家庭主婦、醫生以及老師。有些學生從小跟我學英文，長大後發展出成功的專業職涯。 我曾在密集型語言補習班任教，也在家中教授幼兒園學生。我也曾是台北 SOGO 百貨附近一家補習班的共同經營者之一，該補習班在營運期間服務超過 250 名學生，並持續經營多年。 目前我在台灣與菲律賓之間往返生活，並在兩地皆擁有永久居留權。我通常在家教英文，但偶爾也可以看到我在芒果樹下，或是在 Starbucks 與 85°C 咖啡店上課。 我非常喜歡教英文……也很喜歡喝咖啡。

Having lived in Taiwan for 34 years, I understand the challenges Chinese speakers face when learning English. 我在台灣生活了 34 年，因此非常了解華語人士在學習英語時所遇到的困難。 I teach students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. My lessons focus on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and exam preparation. 我教授各種程度的學生，從完全沒有基礎的初學者到進階學習者。課程內容包括會話、文法、發音、單字、聽力理解，以及各類英語考試準備。 I have developed my own bilingual English–Chinese curriculum for students in Taiwan. For beginners, I use Chinese when needed to explain difficult grammar and vocabulary quickly and clearly. As students become more confident, we gradually use more English until they can communicate naturally. 我為台灣學生設計了一套中英雙語教材。對於初學者，我會在需要時使用中文，快速且清楚地說明較困難的文法與單字。隨著學生能力提升，我們會逐漸增加英語的使用，直到學生能自然且有自信地用英語溝通。 Lessons can follow my curriculum or your own textbooks, PDFs, Engoo lessons, or other learning materials. 課程可以使用我的教材，也可以配合您的教科書、PDF、Engoo 課程或其他學習教材。 I can also help students prepare for GEPT, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, and Cambridge English exams. 我也提供 GEPT、IELTS、TOEFL iBT 及 Cambridge English 等英語考試的準備課程。 My goal is simple: clear explanations, practical English, and steady progress. 我的教學理念很簡單：清楚的講解、實用的英語，以及穩定且持續的進步。
