I come from a farming community in the US state of Oregon. I love the countryside. I don't fly airplanes, but I love learning about aviation and traveling. I have traveled and been on extended visits to the Philippines over the past ten years. I love science fiction TV series and some movies. I love writing music. My favorite kind of music is rock, especially from my teenage years in the 1980's. I have played the piano, but haven't been practicing for many years. I have three adult sons in their early to middle twenties.

I'm very relaxed. I have been tutoring here since late 2016. A lot of learning about conversation comes from the real world of experience, not just from school or college. I think it's more fun, really. I usually ask a lot of questions that go deep into topics because I want to empower you to think and search for the right words to express yourself. I will suggest words that come to me as we explain what we're thinking. I also help people learn vocabulary and correct grammar by reading short articles together, and bringing up questions of my own, as well as from sources all over the internet. If my relaxed style works for you, I'm happy. :)
