Hi, I’m Shane — an Australian English tutor with 12 years of TESOL experience. I help adults, teenagers, and children speak English confidently and naturally.
I started teaching in 2012, when my family moved to China. I taught piano and percussion in Nanjing, as well as English in a downtown language center. Later, my family and I moved to Beijing, where my teaching experience grew quickly.

I have 12 years of TESOL teaching experience across home-schooling, private tutoring, small-group classes, and online lessons. In Beijing, I taught children ages 5 to 16 in both home-school and private school settings, which helped me develop a flexible and adaptable teaching style. One of my most rewarding experiences was working in a structured school program that gave me a clear curriculum while still allowing room to plan engaging lessons. I also taught online during the pandemic, and now that I live in Saudi Arabia, online teaching is a great fit for me. My approach is student-centred and practical. I use conversation and reading to build confidence, fluency, and accuracy, with a strong focus on pronunciation and grammar. I also have experience supporting IELTS preparation. English is my main subject area.
