William
Hello!
I was born and educated in England, graduating with First Class Honours in Social Sciences and International Development from a university in the United Kingdom. My academic background helped shape a deep interest in people, cultures, and global perspectives, but rather than following a traditional path, I chose a life of travel, adventure, and teaching. My journey began in Spanish-speaking countries, where I first taught English and explored Latin cultures. Over time, that path led me to Asia, where I spent many years living and teaching in Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. These experiences shaped not only how I teach but also how I see the world. Most recently, I was living on a remote tropical island in Vietnam, teaching from a boat and training for a 70km ultramarathon. I’m now back in England, living at home, teaching from my own space, visiting family, and planning my next adventures. Through all of this, I’ve found that the most meaningful learning happens when we share stories, ideas, and open conversation.
As a long-time English teacher and global traveler, I now teach in a more free-spirited, natural way — focusing on real conversations rather than structured lessons. I’ve found that for advanced students, the most powerful way to grow is by exploring big ideas and diving into discussions that challenge your thinking, spark curiosity, and keep you engaged. These days, I work remotely from a boat moored off a tropical island in Vietnam, teaching from nature whenever possible. My classroom might be the deck of a boat, a quiet beach, or the shade of a palm tree — and my goal is to help students speak English with clarity, confidence, and flow. If you're looking for a tutor to guide you through textbook grammar, I'm probably not the right fit. But if you're seeking natural conversation, meaningful topics, and a chance to practice English in a relaxed and inspiring environment — let’s talk.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is casual, natural, and conversation-based — ideal for advanced students who want to move beyond grammar drills and into real, engaging dialogue. I focus on helping you speak fluently, think in English, and express yourself with confidence and clarity. Rather than following a fixed structure, I let the conversation flow — diving into interesting topics and exploring where the discussion leads us. Along the way, I offer gentle corrections, vocabulary upgrades, and guidance on how to sound more authentic and expressive when you speak. I also pay special attention to intonation and rhythm, which are key to making your speech sound natural and emotionally rich. Through relaxed but intentional practice, you’ll learn how to communicate in a way that’s not just grammatically correct — but genuinely engaging.
