Hello, my name is Jeff and I grew up in the U.S. in the state of Iowa. I went to the University of Iowa and studied linguistics, which allowed me to teach English in Colombia, where I now reside full time. I enjoyed a long career with software companies, offering solutions to utility companies. So if you'd like to focus on business English, great, or if you just want to get more fluent in conversation, great too! I look forward to working with you!
I live with my wife, Adriana, and have a daughter, Arianna, who also teaches English and preschool in the United States. I love to cycle, hike, travel and love the water, whether swimming or windsurfing.

I encourage students to let go of their fear and express themselves with whatever words come to them, the important thing is to speak -- I will provide feedback on grammar at the end of the lesson, so that students can improve the particular point for the next lesson. Vocabulary and pronunciation can be worked on during the lesson and also points to work on summarized at the end. It is important to have fun, laugh and enjoy the language learning experience!
