Hello, I would love to help you practice everyday American English and gain confidence. I teach ages 6 to 100 and above on this platform. I volunteered as a literacy tutor for English as other Language(EOL) adult Students for many years and worked in two schools recently in Spain. I tutor online. Recently I walked ancient Roman roads, called the Camino de Santiago, routes goes all over Spain. I met many people from all over the world. Most wanted to practice their English. I wanted to practice Spanish. Some were at very beginner levels and some advanced. We worked on conversation practice on subjects that were important to both of us. I believe learning should be fun and enjoyable. I am patient, kind and will challenge you to go just a bit out of your comfort zone, so you will improve. Making mistakes is part of learning. Strive for progress first then excellence. I will help you to have fun with the mistakes and grow from them. Pro-tips- to get confident practice asking questions with two things in mind-Who do I want to talk to and what do I want to say. Learning some begining phrases that answer those questions -even if they are advanced will help you get speaking right away. Second always work on your pronunciation- Listen to natives and mimic how they sound- If people cannot understand your pronunciation it slows your communication down- We all want people to understand us- Enjoy the process. I am from the U.S.A with parents who were both in the military and Olympics . I was born abroad and grew up in the USA since I was 5 years old. Some of my interests are music, metaphysics, wellness, karaoke, and nature. I recently lived in Spain assisting at two schools with American English conversation. I have worked in the Health care industry and customer service in some regard, most of my adult life. I worked as a liaison for interpreters in both industries, so I have been exposed to many languages. I tutored for EOL in the USA from 2002 to 2009 as a volunteer- we had many family English only meals at buffets to practice English in the "real world". I am TESOL certified. I recently walked parts of the pilgrim paths in Spain.. I love to meet people from different cultures and exchange ideas.

My teaching style is friendly and patient, mixed with a sense of humor. My focus is on conversation. Confidence comes from repeated action. If you are enjoying yourself and talking about things important to you, you will improve faster. Practicing conversation can be intimidating. Many students hold back because they don't want to make mistakes. But most native speakers of any language make mistakes all the time when talking, Practicing while having fun helps our learning journey. Strive for progress first. I use the resources on Cambly. I will make suggestions on other resources if needed. I will help you come up with strategies to increase and maintain speaking fluency.
