Profession: I work in 3 related fields: social psychology, linguistics, and teaching.
Teaching Experience: I have over 10 years experience in teaching English to foreigners of all ages and levels, in many different settings, as well as teaching remedial English to illiterate and/or mentally disabled individuals. I taught English in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand for 8 years, and during that time, I also taught students online from countries such as China, Korea, Brazil, Russia, Spain, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
Interests: I have many interests! I love reading, writing, discussion, psychology, sociology, linguistics, education, history, travel, cultures, hockey, bicycling, horseback riding, hiking, camping, cats, dogs, and many other things! It's a long list and a short life!
Education: I went to Portland State University for my bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. I did a double major as there was no social psychology program. I also graduated from the Russian Fluency program at the Defense Language Institute of Monterey, the premier US school for government linguists and interpreters. After graduation, I worked as a diplomatic interpreter for the INF Treaty in Western Europe.
