Expérience d'enseignement: I have taught ESL for two years at a for profit adult academy where I live. I teach students from all over the world, but the majority of students in the area where I live come from Brazil, Thailand, and Russia. I teach 5 hour classes so I have to be very created to keep my students engaged. I like to include listening, speaking, writing, and reading in equal measures and also have fun. In addition to this experience, I've had many other experiences teaching ESL in volunteer settings at the library and as a tutor at the high school and college level.
Intérêts: I like to travel a lot. I spent a semester in Rome, and I've been back and forth to Europe when I get the chance. Most recently, I was selected as a volunteer in the Diverbo program in Spain. It was a great experience. I also love playing guitar, hiking, cooking, and listening to music. As a liberal arts student, I naturally love reading and discussing books. I just finished One Hundred Years of Solitude and I'd like to start another book by the same author!
Éducation: I attended Thomas More College of Liberal Arts and earned a degree in literature. I then attended St. John's College Graduate Institute and earned a MA in the liberal arts. I'm now pursuing another master's in ESL teaching from Framingham State College. I have a passion for great books and conversation and I love thinking about how to optimize my lessons.
