Profession: Freelance food & travel writer
Teaching Experience: I received my CELTA certification from Cambridge University for teaching English to adult speakers of other languages. I've taught both online and in language schools for adults of all levels, though I specialize in one-to-one lessons in business English. I've had personal experience working in many sectors including: retail sales and management, human resources, loss prevention, accounting and tax preparation, paralegal and I've served as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of a nonprofit.
I'm happy to help you in whatever way you need, especially:
- practicing speaking to increase your fluency
- expanding your vocabulary
- practical phrases to help you in work, school or travel
- studying for an exam, including IELTS
- pronunciation practice
Just a note: My lessons focus on getting you speaking and I'm NOT a grammar expert, so if you are looking to go over the fine points of grammar, you may wish to find a different tutor. I have many resources available though, so I'm happy to find the correct answer for you if you don't mind waiting. =)
RESERVATIONS: I teach on Cambly by reservation only, so it can be difficult to get a session with me if you do not have a reservation. As a courtesy to others who would like a reservation, I'm unable to accept reservations from students who repeatedly fail to show up for sessions or cancel at the last minute.
Interests: I love traveling -- I've been to 38 countries so far -- and I enjoy learning about new cultures through their food, culinary history, recipes and traditions. The first words I learn in a new language are always how to say are "please", "thank you" and "it's delicious!"
Education: CELTA (Istanbul, Turkey) + A.S. in Paralegal Studies (Honolulu, USA)
Spoken Languages: English (Native)
