Profession: Teacher Assistant (special needs)
Teaching Experience: I work as a teacher's assistant in classroom settings at a non-public high school assisting at risk youth or socially challenged students in academics, extra-curricular, independent living skills, communication, and other subjects. In the past, I created my own material as a public speaker on anger management, communication, and have conducted classroom workshops. 5 years experience as a poet has allowed me to use poetry to mentor and teach and I have performed it in various venues (including workshop/classroom settings) teaching various areas of life, faith & spirituality. Also, I have taught adult classes through a work program creating material and teaching appropriately for their social, academic, and relational needs. I have acquired experience as a tutor and am currently working with an Afghan refugee in English Writing and an Uzbek preparing for a global exam in English in order for him to teach English. I have also taught as a guest speaker in various types of venues using my own teaching material in the past.
Interests: I love nature and outdoors, hiking and discovering waterfalls. Travel & culture. I like sports such as martial arts, basketball, or pool. Music, dance, poetry, or art are fun to me. Movies, humor, genuine relationships, and social are important! I also like reading and continuous learning in various life related topics that are holistic. Conversations about life. Building dreams and supporting people of similar passion. Career-wise... I am in the area of Mentoring and personal development; Spiritual leadership and growth; and faith-based instruction, but if we can't talk about that, I am not here to preach at you. I am interested in humanity, understanding humans better so I do consider topics of culture, spirituality, family, language, relationships, behavior, and can carry a wide-range of topic. Conversationally knowledgeable in Philosophy, religion, economics, business, culture, spirituality, leadership, ethics, relationships, and much more. There's always something to teach and there's always something to learn.
Education: I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Professional Studies from Bethany University in Scott's Valley, CA. My focus was mostly in cross-cultural studies, theology, and leadership. Part of my experience in cross-cultural studies was going to Nicaragua, C.A.
