Profession: English Teacher
Teaching Experience: I have been an ESL, English as a Second Language Teacher, for 20 years. I have worked at Kids Club in Busan, South Korea and for W. School at their Guri, Dosim, and Deosko branches in South Korea. I co-taught with local Thai teachers at the Daruna Bilingual Program in Ratchaburi, Thailand. I tutored adult learners at the Berlitz Language Center in Philadelphia, USA. I was also a Signals Intelligence Instructor in the US Army. This past 2016-2017 school year, I completed a 1700 hour AmeriCorps contract as a Reading Tutor in a local public elementary school in Delaware, USA. After many years of teaching experience, I have come to the conclusion that the best way to learn English is not by studying grammar or vocabulary, but instead by acquiring the language through authentic communication.
Interests: I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and eating spicy food such as Kimchi. I also enjoy watching Sci-Fi movies and TV series, especially Star Wars, Supernatural, and Stargate SG1, but NOT Star Trek because "to boldly go" is a split infinitive error!
