専門分野: University Professor - English and writing
教師経験: I have spent over 25 years effectively connecting with diverse classes and audiences as an adjunct professor of English and writing, a journalist, a photographer, a poet, a fiction and nonfiction writer, and a videographer. Standing in the intersection of my passions and experiences, I offer an electric curiosity and a fluid dynamism to what I do and to life. At my core, I am a teacher, writer, trainer, and communicator.
As a writer and teacher, I am positively engaged by and attuned to the individuality of each classroom experience and each tutoring experience. I am not afraid to use humor, to learn from my students and classes, and to treat students with a continually renewed optimism and a real and rooted belief in their potential. As a writer and photographer, I am also decidedly focused on the inimitable nexus between an audience and art.
I teach essay writing, and research writing classes at three different colleges, each with a unique student population. I consider it my charge to meet each college student and class where they are and take them to the next step lesson by lesson, class by class, consultation by consultation, grade by grade, and semester by semester.
興味: I enjoy hiking, sailing, permaculture, photography, writing, lectures, theatre, cycling, poetry, pets, art, independent films, gardening, and a myriad of music genres. I play piano and trumpet and am learning other instruments. As well, I am a volunteer with a couple community groups.
学歴: My graduate degree in writing is from Johns Hopkins University. As well, I have taken classes and writing workshops at the following: University, American University, Sewannee Writers' Conference, Summer Literary Seminars, and the West Chester University Poetry Conference.
