I've always worked. I amaze myself with the many different job opportunities I've taken on, and the eclectic array of jobs...Wow!
Interests: I am in my 50's with a youthful spirit and an enthusiastic heart for life’s simple and extraordinary moments. As a pass-time, I’ve dabbled in film acting, but I have not been on set for quite some time. Currently, I'm into staying healthy and fit; I enjoy running and yoga. I like to travel, too! I like good food and fun adventures in cooking, great film and awesome popcorn, ... reading a good book, having a productive writing session, nature and animals, ... I just adore cats ( I'm a bit of a cat whisperer, actually) and oh, ... I enjoy learning and practicing languages ( currently French, and ASL), and accents and dialects... well, they just fascinate me! As for teaching, I was raised by two awesome parents, and my mother was an English teacher. Cool, right? My mother’s passion for language and for education definitely rubbed off on me! I’ve taught in both special education settings and in regular classroom settings, and I’ve done plenty of substitute teaching and tutoring (both one to one and small group). I especially like one to one tutoring. One of my favorite tutoring experiences in college was tutoring Vietnamese-speaking college students. It was a voluntary work assignment, and out of all the volunteer work opportunities from which there was to choose, I chose that one because I had a feeling it would be a good fit, and I was right, it was. It was an excellent choice! I met-up with six students three times a week, for a full semester. We met in the campus library and I was excited to help the students with their English word pronunciation, vocabulary, and sentence structuring ( syntax ). The students loved coming to my sessions, and now as a English language tutor with Cambly, I am just as excited to help students now, as I was then. I can’t wait to join you on your language learning journey. I very much look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your language goals! Let’s talk!
