Profession: ESL Tutor
Teaching Experience: Until recently, I lived in Colombia working as an English tutor at a university, working with students one-on-one, in groups, in conversation clubs, and by creating events to give students engaging, real world practice. During that time, I volunteered teaching English in high schools classes and taught English at a nonprofit that helps Venezuelan migrants. I was also a School Visit Intern with my university's Center for Latin American Studies to teach Latin American topics at local schools.
Interests: I enjoy cooking/baking, dancing, running, yoga, painting, reading, hiking/camping, and spending time with family, friends, and my dog, Finn. I've lived abroad 3 times: studying for a semester in Madrid, Spain, doing an independent research project in Valladolid, Mexico, and teaching English on a Fulbright scholarship in Barranquilla, Colombia. So, I understand what it's like trying to learn a new language! In the future, I'd like to pursue a master's degree in social work.
