That's a complicated way of saying that I try to integrate language learning with learning about the (popular) culture that comes with the language. To me, learning a language is as much about cultural understanding as it is about grammar. It also makes learning more fun!

My name is Mike and I am a teacher and educator.

As a child and teenager I grew up all over the world, including the United Kingdom, Brunei, Venezuela, and The Netherlands. This gives me a deeply international outlook and experience with learning foreign languages in different cultural contexts.

When I am not teaching, I like to read, go rock climbing, cycling, and do yoga.
